Dear Catholic School Families,
As we approach the joyful celebration of Christmas, I am filled with gratitude for the gift of our Catholic schools and the vibrant communities that bring them to life. This sacred season invites us to pause, reflect, and rejoice in the extraordinary reality of the Incarnation—the moment when God became man to rescue us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
In the Salina Diocese, we are united by our mission: Together, Let Us Be Disciples of Jesus on Mission. This calling reflects our commitment to forming the hearts and minds of our students, so they may know, love, and follow Jesus. Through academic excellence, faith formation, and service opportunities provided in our schools, we strive to equip each child to live a life of discipleship and purpose.
As part of our Jubilee Year of Hope 2025, we are excited to launch A Million Memorares for Hope, an inspiring initiative aimed at deepening our diocese’s prayer life and fostering a spirit of hope. Parishes will receive special postcards designed for this challenge, where individuals can commit to praying one hundred Memorare prayers per card. Participants will have the opportunity to write their personal intentions and share what gives them hope on these postcards. Once completed, these cards can be mailed directly to the Chancery. Each time we receive a set of cards, Bishop Vincke will take the time to pray over them, lifting up the intentions of those who have participated. Our goal is to have a million Memorare prayers said, creating a powerful wave of prayer and hope throughout our community. We invite everyone to join us in this meaningful journey, as we collectively seek grace and strength through the intercession of Our Lady. Together, let’s spread hope and make a profound impact through our prayers!
None of this would be possible without you, our families. Your dedication to Catholic education is a testament to your faith and hope in Christ. By choosing Catholic schools, you are making an investment in your children’s spiritual and academic growth, an investment that bears fruit in their lives and the broader Church community. Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of partnering with you in this holy work.
This Christmas, may the light of Christ illuminate your homes and hearts. Let us rejoice together in the hope of the Savior, who came not only to dwell among us but to rescue us and invite us into eternal life with Him.
May the peace and blessings of this holy season be with you and your family now and always.
Merry Christmas!
Geoff Andrews, Superintendent of Schools
