Evangelizing Catechesis

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)

Catechesis makes the proclamation of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ continually resound in the heart of every person, so that life may be transformed. A dynamic and complex reality at the service of the Word of God, catechesis is accompaniment, education and formation in the faith and for the faith, an introduction to the celebration of the Mystery, illumination and interpretation of human life and history. By harmoniously integrating these characteristics, catechesis expresses the richness of its essence and offers its specific contribution to the pastoral mission of the Church.

Catechetical Certification Opportunities

The Salina Diocese offers two ways for our Education Leaders and Catechists to continue learning more about their faith and earn certifications.

Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University.

We are excited to announce a partnership with the Franciscan University of Steubenville beginning this fall. This is an opportunity for everyone in the diocese. The diocese will cover the program’s cost so that everyone has an opportunity to grow in their faith, grow in skill and knowledge needed to help others, and even earn certifications. The program is at home, at your own pace, and has guidance/mentorship available. I am excited about what this could bring to our diocese.

There will be opportunities for you to earn three different levels of certification.
Basic level Certification
Advanced level Certification
Master-level certification.
