Sara was born and grew up in Palco, Kansas. She attended Fort Hays State University where she received a BA degree in History and Secondary Education. She also received a BSE in Elementary Education. Sara taught one year at Sacred Heart Elementary in Dodge City before moving to Plainville to teach at Sacred Heart Grade School. She taught 17 years as the sixth grade instructor and 1 year as the 4th grade teacher. This year, while attending Administrative classes through FHSU, she will be starting her journey as the Principal of Sacred Heart. Sara is a parishioner of both Sacred Heart in Plainville and St. Joseph in Hays. She is not married, but does have a delightful cat named Jane Austin. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her extended family.
