Contests for Children

Also this year, families with children can look forward to seeing various contests and challenges in the schools and religious education programs, fostering a desire for hope in young people. Resources like coloring pages of hope-filled saints, pilgrimage sites, and churches, will be circulated among schools and teachers. Students will also be encouraged to partake in events that give hope to the needy, like hosting food drives or visiting nursing homes.

This spring, high school and college students in the diocese can look forward to an essay contest on hope. The contest will ask students to explore the power of hope and its impact on individuals and communities. Students will get to respond to the question of “What does hope mean to you?” and get to share personal experiences or stories from their community that illustrate the transformative power of hope. Winning entries will be shared by the diocesan communications team. More details forthcoming.

What gives you hope?

What brings you hope? We want to know!

High school and college students in the diocese are

invited to participate in the Stories of Hope Contest!

How does it work?

Just respond to the question, “What does hope mean to you?”

That can be through personal stories, community examples or reflections.

Winning entries

Winners will be selected in two categories: one for high school students (grades 9-12) and one for college students. Winning entries will be shared by the diocesan communications team.
