Happy Feast of St. James!
Great Lakes: I am currently in Michigan. This evening, I will be attending the 50th anniversary of the Servants of God’s Love religious community in Ann Arbor. This small group of Sisters works with the poor (they have a residence in downtown Flint) and started hospice care in two houses they own. Tomorrow, I will be at our family reunion. About 80 people are expected to attend. Looking forward to seeing everyone. I have a baptism on Sunday and then will start heading back to Salina.
Encounter: I thoroughly enjoyed the Encounter Conference in Toledo last week. One thing that sticks out to me was the emphasis on the laity and equipping them for ministry. Come Holy Spirit!
Classmates: I was able to spend a few days with my classmates from the seminary for a couple of days. It was great to pray together, share some meals, and recall some of the funniest moments in the seminary.
Conference: Thank you for promoting the Eucharistic Conference via Fr. Andy’s email earlier this week. Also, thank you for responding to Fr. Andy’s questions below:
We would also love to know if you are able to attend — and if you are willing to help with the following: (Stipends will be paid after the conference)
– Hearing Confessions on Saturday, August 9th from 8:30 PM-9:30 PM
– Hearing Confessions on Sunday, August 10 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
– Concelebrating Closing Mass at 4:00 PM on Sunday
As a priest, to RSVP, simply email Fr. Andy ([email protected]) and let him know:
– Will you be attending the conference?
– Can you help with confessions?
– Will you be able to join us for the closing Mass?
Dinners: The seminarians get together at the lake on Sunday for a few days before attending the seminarian dinners. I look forward to seeing many of you at the dinners in Manhattan and Hays.
Looking forward to being back in the diocese!
