Michaela Sasse
Michaela is passionate about accompanying women as they discern the Lord's will for their lives. Michaela grew up on a farm with her younger brother outside of Gaylord, Kansas, and attended public school and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Smith Center. While growing up, her family regularly attended Mass each Sunday, but she had a rather narrow view of Jesus Christ and His Church. On Easter Sunday when Michaela was nineteen years old, she encountered Jesus in a deeply transformative way, and this changed the trajectory of her life. No longer did she see religion simply as a set of rules to be adhered to, but was given the grace to know that Jesus loved her deeply. Michaela attended Fort Hays State University where she majored in biology, and made many wonderful friends at the Comeau Catholic Campus Center who are some of her best friends to this day. During her senior year at FHSU, she sensed the Lord calling her to Himself, but this was challenging to navigate as she did not know any religious women personally. Michaela attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, and since graduating in 2020 has worked as an optometrist while serving in the Church in various capacities. Michaela's discernment of the Lord's will for her life has felt challenging at times, but He is so gentle and loving, and she can see how her discernment journey led her to her current role today. Michaela continues to serve as an optometrist, and is very excited to walk with others as they discover how the Lord is personally and uniquely calling them. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
