Mr. Michael Hubka grew up in the Denver suburbs and received a B.A. in History at Colorado College in 1981. He later received a M.E. in Sports Administration at Wichita State University in 1990 followed by a M.E. in Educational Administration at Wichita State University in 1995. Mr. Hubka began his teaching and coaching career at Sharon High School in 1981, then at Medicine Lodge High School, and later at Riley County Junior High. He has worked as Principal of Medicine Lodge Junior-Senior High School, Principal of Goodland High School, and as Associate Principal and Athletic Director of Bishop Miege High School. He started his 40th year (22 teaching and coaching, and 18 as an administrator) in education as the Principal of Manhattan Catholic Schools in 2020. Mr. Hubka and his wife, Elene, who teaches PE at MCS, have two sons, Brett and Jeff. The Hubka's enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, especially tailgating at K-State football games. Mr. Hubka also enjoys golfing, snow skiing and following his favorite sports teams.
