Marita spent the first 45 years of her life in Northwest Kansas with most of those in Dresden, Leoville and Colby. In 1998 she left her first career of secretarial/bookkeeping to pursue a degree in Pastoral Ministry. She graduated in 2000 from the University of St. Mary aka St. Mary College at Leavenworth, KS. She interned at St. Michael Parish, Chapman from July 2000 to July 2001 under Sr. Carolyn Juenemann and was appointed Parish Life Coordinator of St. Michael’s beginning July 2001.
