Why do we assume that God is not actively working in people’s lives…and furthermore that God could not possibly use us as his messengers to others? This week from January 10-15 is National Vocation Awareness week. What better a time to practice a little evangelization; to practice being God’s messengers in the lives of those who most need to hear His voice? Think about it. What if you are supposed to be the “one person” that makes an impact in someone’s life; that one person that a future priest in our diocese will mention again and again as he tells his own story of God’s action in his life? Who is the young man you know who just needs a little nudge from his friend or family member? Step out on the ledge and be God’s messenger this week. |

This simple motto claimed by Bishop Coakley, describes the truth of living a life completely committed to Christ in Today’s world. It is a commitment that is unknown, seemingly dark, and full of difficult demands, but Jesus Christ commands us, “Do not be Afraid!”
“I would like to ask each one of you: What will you do with your life? What are your plans? Have you ever thought of committing your existence totally to Christ? Do you think that there can be anything greater than to bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus?” - Pope John Paul II on The Meaning of Vocation |
