The 7th Annual Diocesan Men’s Conference, “Men of God” will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Hays. Join Men from across the Diocese of Salina as we come together to be renewed in our Faith and strengthened to live as Men of God. The day will feature inspiring talks from nationally known speakers Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M., Cap. and John Martignoni, Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and an opportunity to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Archbishop Charles Joseph Chaput, OFM Cap. was born in Concordia, Kansas on September 26, 1944. He went to grade school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School in Concordia. Deciding to become a priest at the age of 13, he attended St. Francis Seminary High School in Victoria, Kansas. At age 21 Chaput entered the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, and on July 14, 1968, he made his solemn profession as a Capuchin friar.
On September 8, 2011 he was installed as the ninth Archbishop of Philadelphia, having previously served as Archbishop of Denver and Bishop of Rapid City.
John Martignoni is the Founder and President of the Bible Christian Society; an apologetics and evangelization apostolate located in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. John is a cradle Catholic, but like many was not well catechized as a youth, and fell away from the Church when he went off to college. After hearing a talk from Scott Hahn's he had a conversion of his own and began to delve deep into the Truths of the Faith and Catholic apologetics.
He is currently the host of "EWTN Open Line" a live nationally telecast call in radio program of Bible apologetics. John has been married to Janel for 20 years and they have three sons and one daughter.
