Development

The Office of Development helps to support the ministries of the Diocese, parishes, schools, and other Catholic institutions by creating a comprehensive strategy of development for the financial needs of the Church in the Diocese.

The Office helps to ensure the success of The Catholic Community Annual Appeal, endowments in The Catholic Community Foundation, and capital campaigns throughout the Diocese.  In addition, the Office provides grant-writing support, planned giving advice, and counsel to parishes and individuals about their giving needs and goals.

The Office of Development recognizes that all generosity begins with discipleship and living a life of stewardship.  Only when we understand that all we have, indeed our very lives, are a gift from the Father will we begin to offer back those gifts in gratitude to Him.

If you have questions about the work of our Office or need development advice, please contact us at any time.

The Building on the Rock Logo PDF Print E-mail

Hopefully by now you have seen our “Building on the Rock” logo for the Department of Development.  The logo is being used for all our development efforts right now including the Catholic Community Annual Appeal and the feasibility study for a possible capital campaign.

But why was the logo chosen?  As we look back over the last year we witness a time of uncertainty, challenges, and even fear.  We need to be reminded of the words of Christ that the wise man builds on the rock.  And for the faithful Christian that means building on the rock of Christ and His church: a foundation that never crumbles, a love that never wavers, a grace that cannot be exhausted.

Building a firm foundation also produces a sense of hope.  For a foundation means exciting plans for the future are ready to be constructed.  We can see the outlines of all the Diocese of Salina seeks to build: an increase in seminarians and vocations; a new pastoral plan to strengthen the life of our diocese and parishes; a possible capital campaign to address our long-term needs.  Putting down roots into the rock can prove difficult, but the rewards can last for eternity.

So we hope you as see and reflect on the “Building on the Rock” logo you will join us in securing a firm foundation for all that Christ wants to accomplish in our midst.
